We are as yet neither rich nor famous as a consequence of Monday's show, but it sounds like there is a hint of an implication that we may be going to Canada next March for some showcases at Canadian Music Week in Toronto. With a following wind the journey home might even manage to take in Austin for SxSW as well, but that one is very heavily subscribed so it's more an idea than a likelyhood whereas Canada is pretty much on the table.

It's amazing what a difference proper management makes.

Awesome! Can I recommend Montreal, as well?

awesome. You're truly a modern internationalist. And SXSW- that's the single coolest industry showcase. If you get to go to that, I am officially insane with jealousy...

CMW is apparently the big Canadian showcase so it should bring a bit of press and plenty of Canadian industry types. May be quite intriguing...

I do have to say that Torontonians do have abit of ego-centricity in their attitudes, so take thè `big Canadian showcase`with a grain of salt. The music scene in Canada does vary quite abit between Halifax-Montreal-Toronto-Calgary-Vancouver. It is a very big country.

Sorry, by "showcase" I kind of mean't "conference", there are a lot of showcases as a result but it's not necessarily publicised as widely outside the music industry - if its known and reputed here its probably reasonably big. It's mentioned in a breath with Midem which is the main European industry conference. SXSW is the US equivalent- being American it is higher profile but I'm not sure whether that means it's becoming more public spectacle and less behind-the-scenes conniving of labels, agents, management and all the other liggers and hangers on which seems to be the essence of this most dubious of entertainment formats.
