From the post...
27 May 2007 23:17A friend of ours is a very talented artist and she put together a gorgeous ink and watercolour painting of Joe a while back. It came through the post a couple of days ago and it is stunning.

This was based on a photo of Joe throwing himself around the place and it really has captured his playful thunderousness beautifully.
I had been expecting this, but what I didn't know was that she had been scheming with
sleepsy_mouse to put together a painting of my dearly missed friend Othello pony.

It's a beautiful picture and it was a wonderful thing to do. It shall have pride of place above my desk so I can look up when I'm working and remember why I do it.
If you're interested in a commission or finding out more you can find her website here.
In other news, I'm really excited about the Silversand Clinic I'm going to next weekend. Anyone who tolerated my reports on the June and September ones last year will know how much I have got from these in the past. This will be the first one with Zorro, who has been somewhat obstreperous lately and I think we will both benefit a whole lot.
I know that Steve, who is running the course, will be doing a demo on the Friday night- if anyone here is reasonably near to Maidstone in Kent ( we're actually going to be here ) I strongly recommend coming along to watch. It won't be showy at the expense of the horse, which seems to be a feature of some demos people I know have been to lately, but you get a great opportunity to watch a top class horseman at work. As an additional bonus you probably also get to meet me.
Alright, I admit, that last one is less of an incentive...

Date: 28 May 2007 17:55 (UTC)Zorro is a good deal bigger and a whole lot scarier. I'm really glad I had Othello to teach me how to handle things without being quite such a total sod about them...
