Sometimes, when I'm feeling particularly tired and melancholy I listen to the song Bold Riley, which reminds me of the Halfpenny folk club and happy days.

It doesn't help, except that it gives the sadness a richness and a flavour of dark winter and friends who I see too little and miss too much. Work is weighing heavily on me right now and although I know that thirty is just a number I can feel it's looming presence at my shoulder and I am afraid of the judgement it will cast on my life and my achievements, or the judgement I will cast on my own life and achievements when I reach that milestone. There are yoghurts in the fridge that will outlast my twenties.

I had no idea you were older than me.

Well, whatever age you are, you're still brilliant.

Judgements

Neither you or your age can cast any judgement on your acheivements thus far. If you must be introspective about it then use the milestone to decide what you want to do by the next milestone, not apply some arbitrary critique to what you've done so far.

Don't be so sure about the yoghurt.

its only when I hear my friend winning a prize on the radio that I realise I don't have his current email address.

Anyway, we should sometime this year have a big old being old party, since so many of us are turning 30. Not only should this include fun and games, but also lots of reasuring each other that we've not done so badly with out first 30 years.

But 30 is great! People give you swords and chocolate and everything. And, as far as I can tell, things just get better and better from there.

yay the rocking old yoghurts can party like some beef.

or like beasts with tasty toasty beef to sustain them.

beasts with beef on the beach.

and beer.

anyway, this beast has no beef with you, but let's rock like yoghurt.

yoghurt on FIRE!
