There comes a time in the life of any right-thinking adult when they realize that dieting is not for them, or that a particular diet is not for them at any rate.

After three days of Dr Bastard's starvation menu, we have conceded that there is no way we can continue to have raw broccolli and wan tasteless vegetable stock every morning and night, interrupting them only with hot lemon water and cold, flaccid omlettes that taste like damp, slightly scorched flannel. We will continue to eat sensibly between now and the wedding but we can't afford the constant lethargy and low energy levels that the diet in question appeared to require. We are going to America directly after the wedding, so it's not like we won't put any weight we have lost straight back on anyways.

In three days I managed to lose two pounds and the will to live.

On Saturday we spent an hour or so traipsing round town in search of nail varnish to match Lou's dress. Sunday night she sliced half of the nail off her index finger cutting up vegetables to make more pallid watery stock. There is no justice in the world.

Dude, its simple. stay away from the following stuff:

Butter, salt, fat, oils, burgers, chips, bread, potatoes... stuff like that!

Dont give up man! You can do it! You dont have to eat just lettuce and stuff... but then, salad is great! Just eat healthily, and sensibly, and excersise! dont just spend the evening playing warcraft!:p Go walking! Make love (LOTS...its a great way to loose weight... possible the best;) its all pretty easy!

Just cut out all carbs... not quite... cut out sweets and chocolate (anything sweet that isn't orange citrus fruit), and all starchy food, i.e. potato products, pasta, rice and anything that contains flour. Eat lean meat, vegetables, nuts and seeds and orange citrus fruit. Feel great and watch the weight drop off.

We were on a very specific diet that gave us a week-long menu. We're going to keep on with the general principles, but not obsess with matching every meal to the book.

An additional good principle- don't eat carbohydrates for dinner cos you don't use them and then they turn into lard while you're asleep. Meat, fish and veg are all fine, but no pasta, bread or pizza. Come to think of it, thats about 80% of our dinners out the window.

Sorry for not posting as me...

But you probably don't have a clue who I am anyway. It's Vic, Dug's fiancee, plays Cariadwen (who used to bodyguard Cerryn)...

Oh, and I understand that you are on a set diet (I went back and read your other posts after I had posted) - just thought I'd leave the advice as I have done a few horrible diets and the above is the only one that I have ever managed to stick to.
