It seems that today we were gifted with a bright sunny day, uncharacteristically warm for the time of year.
Zorro and I took the opportunity for a ride. We began a bit questionably because we had to pass the pigs of doom on the way down the valley, then we were passed by a flock of motocross bikes on the other side, then we went down a closed road ( hence new signs, cones, big plastic barriers ) and then having gone along a busy stretch of road, the trail off onto the common was quite eroded and Zorro slipped nervewrackingly as we descended it, just catching himself before my leg found the bank at the side of the trail. Still, having got out onto the common, it was a simply gorgeous day.
Haiku Hack

Bright bracken pinewoods
White sand under quiet round hooves
A decision ahead.

Birch seeds in sunlight,
A rain of bright stars falling
in October woods.

For two August days
Dry heath burned and smouldered, now
What is with that mane?

Black hillside vista
A lone black horse walks through the
Memory of fire.

The heath divided
By scots pine covered ridge
And broad sandy trail

An open valley
Beneath the wings of the sky
Mapped with paths home.

-- that makes me want to write a story.
Damn it. It's a good thing I like you, else I'd hate you a little bit for having all this awesome scenery to ride through.

Date: 11 Oct 2010 20:23 (UTC)I should probably get back to writing poetry from time to time. I guess this is a step into that actually, certainly it's nice to have had some really positive comments on my writing.

Date: 11 Oct 2010 20:28 (UTC)Hang about. Do people not USUALLY give positive comments about your writing? If so, what sort of biscuity heathens do you show your work to?
Definitely get back into poetry writing. But not at a cost to your novel writing. Just sayin'. :)
