glenatron: (Emo Zorro)

It seems that today we were gifted with a bright sunny day, uncharacteristically warm for the time of year.

Zorro and I took the opportunity for a ride. We began a bit questionably because we had to pass the pigs of doom on the way down the valley, then we were passed by a flock of motocross bikes on the other side, then we went down a closed road ( hence new signs, cones, big plastic barriers ) and then having gone along a busy stretch of road, the trail off onto the common was quite eroded and Zorro slipped nervewrackingly as we descended it, just catching himself before my leg found the bank at the side of the trail. Still, having got out onto the common, it was a simply gorgeous day.

Haiku Hack
A fork in the trail
Bright bracken pinewoods
White sand under quiet round hooves
A decision ahead.

Riding up towards Kettlebury
Birch seeds in sunlight,
A rain of bright stars falling
in October woods.

Where Hankley Common burned 2: Manesplosion
For two August days
Dry heath burned and smouldered, now
What is with that mane?

Where Hankley Common burned
Black hillside vista
A lone black horse walks through the
Memory of fire.

Pine trail
The heath divided
By scots pine covered ridge
And broad sandy trail

Hankley Common
An open valley
Beneath the wings of the sky
Mapped with paths home.

The ears are ears- the rest is just black mane flying in the wind...

Or possibly the ears are Zorro's way of saying "\m/"

OMG! The haiku descriptions made my morning. Wish I was that clever. Beautiful ride as always.

:D

I figured I'd used "I went here and here and here and it was nice" often enough so I might as well stretch myself a little...

PLEASE more haiku. You are a damn awesome poet, if you didn't know this already.

"Black hillside vista
A lone black horse walks through the
Memory of fire."

-- that makes me want to write a story.

Damn it. It's a good thing I like you, else I'd hate you a little bit for having all this awesome scenery to ride through.

If you were that jealous, you could always come and ride through it too ;)

I should probably get back to writing poetry from time to time. I guess this is a step into that actually, certainly it's nice to have had some really positive comments on my writing.

I've been trying. D: I just thought I'd work myself to death first. You say it'd be best if I visited spring/summer time, yes?

Hang about. Do people not USUALLY give positive comments about your writing? If so, what sort of biscuity heathens do you show your work to?

Definitely get back into poetry writing. But not at a cost to your novel writing. Just sayin'. :)

You would be welcome any time, but we can't guarantee weather in the dark seasons and the house gets cold in spite of the fire.
