Disparate matters
20 September 2010 21:35Zorro has conjunctivitis, his eyes have been a bit puffy and skanky for a few days and this morning they seemed worse so
sleepsy_mouse called the vet out. He has some anti-inflammatories and antibiotic eye ointment for a week, which he seems to be quite accepting of, although my recollection with Othello was that he didn't mind it at first and became more averse to it during the course. Hopefully it will help him be more comfortable.
Also, this morning I could not find my keys anywhere. I thought they would be in my pocket but they weren't, also not in any of the places I usually leave them and after making myself a little late by searching for them I gave up, grabbed the spare key for my car and went off to work. This evening, as I got out of my car at the yard, I realised I was using my lost keys. I have absolutely no idea of where they came from. I assume they must have been in my pocket and somehow eluded me as I searched this morning, but the consequence was bafflement.
On another tangent, people who weren't planning to help
overload74 with ways of providing negative ebay feedback might have missed my suggestion for what one might choose to say when giving a seller bad feedback but it rather amused me so I'm copying it here so I can find it again:

"At first the item seemed exactly as described, although delivery was a little slow. Over time, however, I realised that the item was in fact cursed. We thought the occasional tapping at the window was just the rattle of dry twigs, until one night I drew back the curtain to see a shadowy figure draw back a hand of impossibly long skeletal fingers from the first storey window. Soon manifestations began around the house, a feeling like a cold breath on the back of one's neck, an amorphous sensation of being watched, a very quiet moaning or howling sound with no obvious source. Over a few weeks these experiences became increasingly frequent and intense and it became clear that they were centred around the item. It felt very cold to the touch no matter how warm the room was and after touching it one would suffer troubling dreams if shambling misbegotten figures traversing a dark ruinous landscape in the perpetual half-light of a relentless thunderhead sky. Two weeks ago, in one such dream, I witnessed the face of one of these figures and realised, with horror, that it was the ruined visage of one of my close friends. The next day the same friend visited the flat and during the conversation he absent-mindedly picked up the item. It seemed as though reality itself twisted and warped for a moment and then he was gone. The dreams began to occur without having touched the item and two other friends were witnessed in dreams and shortly afterwards became uncontactable. There are missing posters out, but I know where they have gone- terrible power has taken them. Last night I dreamed again of those ruinous vistas but this time the face on the shambling and broken figure who approached me was my own....
Consequently I feel I can, at best, leave neutral feedback on this item."
