Another Festival Day
18 June 2005 23:26We played a festival in Reading today, in fact it was in Caversham, just up the road from where we used to live when we shared a flat with Shanks. It was an acoustic show and it went really well - for the first time we didn't sound lacking in the absence of piano - and we got a really good reception from the audience. Really good fun. Tomorrow we have our guest backing vocalists for the album coming in for a practice and I'm looking forward to that as well.
Having watched Episode 3 I realize there are now no big films that I have any real interest in and I started wondering about films I'd really like to see made now all those special effects and stunt performers are looking for interesting work. I can really imagine Mythago Wood, probably my favourite book, working as a film- it has a very strong story to tell and it doesn't take too long about it, both of which seem to be contributary factors to good book-to-movie transitions. I reckon there is at least one fantastic David Gemmell movie to be made as well- probably Legend - his style of storytelling is very filmic in itself and I can see something great being achieved from that base material. If any of you can think of books you could see transferring well to film lets hear them...
