Today Othello's owner was finally back from her adventures in sundry foreign parts and able to come and see him and I'm very happy to say that she thought he looked like a cheerful and mellow pony. He was actually very well behaved even by his standards- we had the Chiropractor check his back out on Wednesday ( Charlie, who trims his feet suggested that the reason he is so gitty with his back feet is that he finds it uncomfortable to lift them ) and he seems to be really benefiting. There is a lot of work to do in order to help him strengthen weak muscles in his lower back but we are on the right track and today he was calm and friendly and generally a pleasure to be around.

It's been a busy week with the ponies actually, on Thursday afternoon I had a lesson with a new instructor which was really useful and presented me with a huge amount to work on but also quite hurt afterwards. She thinks I should be sat with my legs in a position which is wrong to any right-thinking mortal and precludes being able to do anything with my feet or ankles. Apparently the not moving my feet thing is my fault too and I need to do lots of stretching...

Tomorrow will be big for the music- we've had a couple of weeks off from rehearsal cos we had many gigs and wanted some free Sundays, so tomorrow is our first practice for a couple of weeks and our last before the Christmas show on Friday. Our Christmas cover is specially poor, but the others still draw the line at my suggestion of Gaudete. It will happen yet.

After practice Lou and I jump into a car, drive to Richmond, get in the tube to Earls Court and go to see the Foo Fighters rocking out. Apparently Supergrass are the support- I've not been a fan of them in the past but the things I've heard from their latest album have sounded really good so that is an intriguing idea too.

Just noticed that the first Foo Fighters album was produced by Barrett Martin which was a familiar name- a quick search revealed him as drummer for Screaming Trees on their classic Sweet Oblivion and Dust albums (two of the finest rock recordings ever made) and that he has since played drums for Therapy? and REM among many others. It turns out he didn't produce the first Foos album, though, that was just me misreading Barrett Jones.
