Plague!

So I'm mostly better from my horrible sore throat type cold of the early part of this week, or at least the Strepsils are keeping the evil at bay currently. Being unable to remove myself from bed did give me a chance to finish the second of the Malazan Book Of The Fallen stories which does a very neat trick of carrying on with some of the characters from the first book, a bunch of new ones and putting them all together on a different continent which is on the brink of a massive uprising. I kind of reviewed Gardens Of The Moon a few posts back and said it was less brutal than George RR Martin and K J Parker- this book breaks that mould entirely but the story is very compelling and really carries you along. Fanatical desert tribes hungry for destruction are always a cheering thought for Jackals as well...

Forgot to say

Other news I forgot to mention: On Saturday Sequoia support Brendan Benson, who has recently been sighted supporting Beck, touring with Keane and recording an album with Jack White. It's at the West End Centre in Aldershot which is really the best local venue- certainly where all the cool touring bands stop to visit- and last time we played there it was great. Exciting stuff, for us at any rate, hopefully the audience will like it as well...
