Zorro was being really good today- we did a bunch of work on straightness and developing more forwardness in a straight line. He's really getting the hang of this and he actually quite likes rampaging up and down once we get around the idea that he just wants to drift from side to side of the school.

He was actually in a cheerful and friendly mood today, which is an infrequent but very enjoyable experience and I loved riding him. We used the western bridle again too, which may have helped.

After we had given them tea we put them back out in the field and as I was walking home I headed out across the top of the field to join the path. After a moment it turned out the ponies needed to catch up so I jogged along with them for a moment and tried to get some pictures of Zorro playing catch up. Turns out, my camera was set to "video"...

Yesterday in the bottom of the valley a little ferny corner that I have been thinking would photograph well was just catching a sunbeam, a lovely moment.

Zorro is emo horse!

speaking of emo, I looove brothers in arms...I associate that song with my trip to Russia a decade ago. For some reason it was a popular song in Moscow back then.

So. Much. Pony. Hair.

I'm curious. When you say you had a better ride with your western bridle... what's different about it that you think had an effect?

Probably the fact I'm riding on the Mecate and not pretending I know how to do contact.

And to think [livejournal.com profile] sleepsy_mouse was mocking me for my gimmerish old-people's listening habits.

great bunch of pictures, and I Looove the storming pony!

The dark canadian mare I ride seems to be about the same form factor as Zorro - how big is he?

He's a beautiful horse and I'm really enjoying that he seems to be in a pretty good mood at the moment. I don't know if its better weather or something good that I'm doing, but there seems to have been a change there and I'm enjoying it.
