glenatronA lesson I learned last Sunday: When they said "the switch is just round the corner" they didn't mean that corner, they meant the next corner along. Which means that one I've been using isn't the switch for the hot water heater, it's the attic light switch.
This explains two mysterious factors of the last few weeks: 1) Why my baths have been coming out lukewarm and 2) why the attic light keeps being on.
