All fool's day...
1 April 2005 21:51Today we got the piece of paper announcing we're taking the sellers of our rusty beyond redemption 4x4 to court. A surprisingly painless process all considered. The form we had to fill in to initiate the process was surprisingly similar to ritual paperwork. If it comes to court I think we'll be fine, as long as I can get the contributors...
Currently I'm listening to Patrick Wolf who is a strange mix of classical instrumentation, rattly acoustica and fizzing electronic beats. His songs are brooding affairs, shadowy love songs for west country ghosts. His voice is slightly reminiscent of Patrick Duff from Strangelove but musically I can't really think of any points of reference which is very unusual. The front page of his website has a woodcut of what may be a snipe, the title "It's the sigh of wild electricity" and nothing else. If you like the idea of that you'll probably like this music. Exactly the kind of thing the Mercury Music Prize was invented to highlight, a true original.
In other news tomorrow is Lou's birthday...
