Further preparation

As part of needing to get ready for foreign parts I had to renew my passport - I didn't think US Customs would be overly enamoured of me turning up with a passport that ran out the day after I flew home. I went to the post office and did their over the counter Check-and-Send thing where they make sure you have filled in the form right and your picture looks ok then send it for you. Hey presto, new passport arrived today. I'm very impressed.

Also ordered a new LCD for my broken camera. The next big adventure: Repairing sophisticated equipment in the comfort of your own home. There is no way this could possibly go wrong!

Good point. I'll wear the wrist strap I usually use for building PCs. That wouldn't have occurred to me on the camera...
