Sunday we are playing live on BBC Southern Counties radio, on their "South:Live" show. This is exciting for us- we had some industry interest after our demo was played on the station a few months back and it may well be the biggest audience we have ever played to.

Now, I can tell that you're thinking "that's all well and good, but how does it affect me?" That is a very understandable question to ask and my response is to tell you that thanks to the magic of what boffins call "teh intarweb!!!1" (no, I don't understand it either- it's some kind of science talk) even you could hear this unique and one-off performance. If you look on this page you will see there is a "Listen Live" link on the bottom right so that you can just switch on your PC on Sunday night between seven and nine o clock and enjoy that sumptuous Sequoia sound that refreshes your body, stimulates your mind and waters your houseplants.

Go on- you might just enjoy it!

Have you done those 10 gigs I suggested you do all that time ago? Or even one of them? Or even looked like you were trying?

Dude, I don't think you quite understand still.

We cant, WONT get rid of woody. Real life has taken it's toll on us.

Until we have been back to Reading a few more time we cannot get a gig. We are in the process of getting copies made, and then they will be sent out. Then we shall gig up here.

Now imagin your band moved up north, and said sorry Ben, you're out the band.

But you forget that Woody has been here since the begining and is part of the genious behind the band.

You have to realise that it isn't THAT easy. We will gig soon. Or not. When we move back to Reading (around christmas time) THEN things can get started.

Im not TOO owrried about trying to make it... and I know deep down that we are good enough to make it. Some bands try really hard and get no where... that wont be the way for us.
I can only assure you we will be famous. Anyway, you KNOW we will make it.

It's just a case of when.

I don't want you to get rid of Woody. I have no problem with the musicianship of any member of the band and it is really hard to find a decent drummer anyway in addition to the time it would take them to learn the songs. That would set you back 6 months minimum. It just annoys me that you are letting it all slip by without even playing live.

A good approach would be to plan things out- work out times you can all get together and practice. Make a timetable. If your set is as tight as you say then you should be able to start doing shows with it after 3-4 practices so plan for that as well. If you can come down this way and meet up with Woody and do a Cellar Bar show or one of the Unsigned Showcase nights or whatever then do it. Getting gigs is easy- there are a lot of people looking for decent bands to play and your CD is easily good enough for that.

I don't know you will make it. I do know a lot more about the industry now than I did a year ago (or for that matter a week ago) and I can absolutely guarantee you that the one thing which will prevent you from making it is not taking your music out and playing it to people. Where is the industry attention going to come from? A band who has earned no fans will sell no records. A band who will sell no records will make it. I've said it before and I'll say it again- the world will not come and find you in your living room.

It's frustrating because you are good and I hate to see that going to waste...

Wow... you seem to have replied loads of times to this...;)

I get what you're saying... and I know you are right. It's just kind of annoying that you don't realise that unfortuantely life has thrown a couple of obsticals inm our way. We get back to practice as much as we can. And when we DO practice we work bloody hard. It would be great to get a gig... and the only thing stopping that is not having any CD's to send to people.

It means a lot you think we'r good... as I have said before, yours is one of the only oppinions that actually matter! And as such soon we WILL start gigging... but we need CD's sent out... and people to let us gig.

If I was living in Reading still you know we would still be doing gigs. But this move to Leamington has really hit the band hard. And it sux.

That is one of the main reasons that I want to move back to Reading.

However, if Im honest, the idea of a gig scares the crap outta me! I don't want to be on stage:p
