Beyond two weeks
6 October 2008 21:47It was two weeks since I got myself kicked last Saturday. This is how my knee looks now:

I was actually kicked at the top of my thigh but the bruising has flowed down to my knee and below. I was a little anxious about how red that is because redness is one of the indicators of infection, but the really red patch was actually cold to the touch so I guess it's probably fine.
I can walk reasonably comfortably now, but my thigh muscles keep cramping painfully at random intervals. I didn't mind so much before because although my leg would cramp up ( always on the other side of the leg to where I was actually kicked ) it was at least predictable that it would happen when I put too much weight on the leg or straightened it in a certain way. Now it just seems to happen for no reason, including when I was driving earlier, leaving me unable to use the brake or accellerator. I will be working from home tomorrow...

It's made in Germany so I'm sure you could find it. It was first recommended to me by the massage therapist we used (who has a 4 year degree in massage and reflexology).

Date: 6 Oct 2008 21:45 (UTC)Currently I'm using a Rosemary and Comfrey ointment my mum's herbalist friend makes and I think it helps but it also makes my leg smell uncannily like a packet of chicken flavoured crisps...
