Last weekend
29 August 2008 22:21Last Saturday I met up with
shanks01 ( currently king of heartbreak ) and we headed off to Wales to enjoy a bit of meeting fellow lame non-going-to-gathering folks.
In Pontypool we met kittens who were full of pouncing and got them overexcited then stole their humans and went off to Swansea where we learned a valuable life lesson about the reasons that people don't make ice lollies out of jelly, those reasons mostly being to do with the fact that they are minging.
In the morning we slept until lunchtime then went for manky greasy Uplands Cafe breakfast which was exactly as it should be.
Having not been to a beach in long years I really wanted to go out to Gower so we went out to Oxwich and threw a ball around:

Alone on the grey and desolate beach with only a few thousand happy holidaymakers enjoying the sunshine around him, EmoShanks contemplates the meaningless of existence.

For someone with amazing reactions and hand-eye coordination,
nohotashes sure did fail to catch the ball a whole lot.

Shanks is momentarily distracted from his sorrow by the need to catch an incoming ball.

There were a bunch of ponies living out on the grassland behind the dunes with a couple of young ones there. I didn't have a lot of time for pictures cos I was holding up the traffic, so this was the best picture I got.
It was really good to see all the welsh guys and it certainly made missing the Gathering a lot easier. Special thanks to
shiva_matimbres for being an excellent host in spite of the jelly-pops idea and for making Shanks clean the stinky fish he brought for the barbecue outside.

Look how cute Curly is. You know you want some little welsh ponies. Little driving ponies. Little trick ponies.
