Joe is colicking again. Sounds like it's worse than last time. If you have any good or healing thoughts to spare, send them out to patch pony please. He needs them pretty badly right now.

If he makes it through this we're going to move him off the sand, to somewhere he can live out and be happy for as long as the arthritis gives him without being subject to that particular risk.

UPDATE: He's at the horsepital. He's on a lot of painkillers. We'll see how he is when they wear off.

Colic can be so scary. :-(

Is this that cute little pony I've seen you on?

Sending good thoughts to Joe!

Joe is our patchy cob in the style that typically get's called "Gypsy Vanner" in the US:

Offer still stands. If you want to move him off sand, we're not a million miles away and he can live out with other ponies or in his own paddock.

Poor boy, he's in my thoughts.

Thank you all for caring about my little patchy horse, I really can't tell you how much it means, and how much it helps.

He's a lot brighter today, and is off all the painkillers, although he'll still be on the drip for a day more.

Now that I'm fairly sure he'll be ok, I've totally fallen apart this evening, every little thing is making me cry. I was so worried about him.

Its natural to fall apart when you love him so much. I'm glad he is on the mend. Poor Joe, he's had a run of bad luck :-(

Oh, I am so glad he's doing ok. It's good to fall apart, especially if it's once crisis is averted. I find not falling apart is a far worse option, despite the fact that it doesn't involve a whole box of kleenex or tons of body fluids. I definitely believe in 'better out than in.'
