So we did the queueing thing, which was well worth it- the line filled the whole street the book shop is in from top to bottom. The fact that any book could raise that level of enthusiasm from that many people and create that kind of sense of occasion is very pleasing to me.

The evening also offered a classic quote from [livejournal.com profile] sleepsy_mouse, talking about general work annoyances. It went along the lines of "Oh, it will just be a bunch more meetings going over and over the same stuff we've gone over five times before, yes we screwed up, now we just have to get over the fact we screwed up and ... Shit! That's my MD!"

Having got the book and returned to the car we discovered that it wasn't our car at all. Either that was an amazingly unlikely thing to happen or Nissan made all their old Micras with only one or two different keys. Slightly odd either way.

By the time I wake up in the morning [livejournal.com profile] sleepsy_mouse will have finished the book and it will be my turn to read it. Awesome.
