Teddy stepping down will mean we get to hang out with him again.

Teddy stepping down will be a loss to the Jackals.

We're so multi-coloured. Happily, no pictures of my night-time kit exist.

All in all I had a great weekend. Everyone seemed to be on very good form and the whole thing was very hilarious indeed. Just another reason to be glad I left the band and wonder why I didn't do it sooner.

I've been doing it since I was pretty young, fell in with my current friends when I was at University. I only really play in the Lorien Trust system, which is a national system with a few really big events ( the Gathering over the August bank holiday typically clocks in about 3500ish players ) and pretty much awesome fun.

Most people's costume is pretty poor (and if you're worried about it you can always get good generic kit from places like lrpstore (http://lrpstore.co.uk) for not too much money. As for being shy that doesn't have to stop you at all, [livejournal.com profile] sleepsy_mouse is very shy and she gets by fine (if quietly). It helps that people at events are mostly very friendly and pretty cool. Also, it probably helps if you're with a group like us (currently voodoo lizards with bad carribean accents ) who don't take things ever so seriously.

As well as the big events you have smaller ones through the rest of the year and it's a bit easier to get the hang of things at the small ones as everyone spends most of the major ones running about getting involved in politics and plotting whereas the smaller ones have more of a directed storyline that you can get involved with.
