Long day

We made steps towards our new house today. It meant that yesterday we rented a van, this morning we were in Notting Hill by 9:30 collecting an enormofridge (with the doors off it fitted into the house with about 5mm to spare) by 1:30 we were in a village near Cheltenham, waiting for the people we had bought a Range off to come back from wherever they had gone and getting increasingly tetchy, by 2:45 they had arrived (and cured our tetchiness by being nice and having a very adorable 6-month-old Border Collie) and by 6:00 we were home (only slightly late for Quesada & Molino practice) with a genuinely helpful Stu and my dad helping to load the items from the van into the house, while Jena assisted with sardonic comments and being mean to Shanks. Some jokes never get tired.

We now have a house full of new fridge and range and a kitchen we are going to have to largely dismantle in order to get them installed. It will be worth it, though, both are awesome. Most of all, though, Lou is awesome. She organised the whole affair, sorted us out with a van and even got me out of bed at 7 in the morning to get us on the road. If it hadn't been for rubbish delays at the Cheltenham end it would have been the ultimate tough-but-smooth-running day. As it was, we lost a bit of practice time, but things worked out ok...
