On Saturday we went to a local valley of lakes and beechwoods to enjoy some of the amazing colour this Autumn has brought us. I took a whole lot of photos, but when I went to look at them I caught my foot in my camera usb cable and broke the plug. A smart move.
It doesn't save you from the pictures, though - I managed to borrow a smart card reader from my more photographically adept parents.

Looking up through leaves to the clear sky.

I took about 25 pictures of this stream before I finally got one with some leaves in it...

The lake was still enough to show some amazing reflections in the brief intervals between swimming dogs.

I love the warm colours in this circle of beech leaves.

Backlit leaves. I managed to switch the flash off for this one. Stupid cameras with always-on by default flash.

I didn't take this one on purpose, but I'm glad it happened cos the texture is rather charming, I feel.

Although it's hard to tell in this picture those are traditional bulrushes with the big club heads and everything. Technically a reedmace but by tradition definitely a bulrush.
