Got a bunch of stuff coming up on the Sequoia front- tomorrow night we are back to the studio to record a B-Side to our first single release, which will be a new version of Close To The Sun coming out in the middle of the summer. We've got a really good team helping to plug the record and although I doubt it will get us onto Top Of The Pops, it may well get the songs played on the radio and maybe direct the attention of the unenlightened towards the album.
Meantimes we're playing at The Corner Room in Oxford on Thursday - I'm not sure that any of you are round there now, but I figured I'm mention it just in case. Sounds like a really good venue and I inherently like Oxford so I'm quite looking forward to it.
We're also playing at the Wilde Theatre in Bracknell on Tuesday next week- again I don't think that is especially local to most people here, but we are sharing a bill with the fantastic Big Wednesday and it is tremendous to be playing on a proper theatre stage- all the rocking-out space I need and more. We played a gig there a couple of years ago and it remains one of my favourite ones- I have no reason to suspect that this will be less than outstanding. If we weren't playing I would be going anyway.
With the popularity of bands like The Feeling and Orson waxing strong at present, I hear cultural pundits saying things like "is it ok to like soft rock?" on the radio and in various publications. Not only is it entirely alright, but here in Sequoia we rock softer than any of those guys...
