If I was anywhere near Brighton and I wasn't playing a gig on Friday night, I would surely be making the effort to go and see Gogol Bordello because I think their Ukranian gypsy punk is pretty much guaranteed to create an unforgettable party. I've always stood in favour of bands with a violinist anyway but every time I hear these guys they get better. Start Wearing Purple is an instant classic that would fit nicely on a mix tape next to Singapore.

not bad. My feeling is they need to be playing faster, which I imagine they would, live, which would of course rock. in my calm, considered opinion...
