It has been a very long week.
Looks like we were on the radio, between Enya and the Dolce Vita theme which is varied if nothing else. While that was going on we were playing a show at the Boxing Club in Reading, where Shanks organised a gig a few years ago which was the only time the band I was in with my brother actually played live. Tonight's gig was good in that there was a decent PA and lighting and a good sized stage to play on but kind of lame in that there were as many people on stage as there were in the audience, more or less. It was a very diverse lineup and basically each band had an audience along but there wasn't much interest from any band's audience in any of the other bands on the bill so there ended up being a lot of coming and going between acts and not many people being there for the whole evening. I felt bad about leaving before the end (with about four people listening to the last act) but I hadn't had any tea and it was an hour's drive home.
Freelancing is starting to look like a realistic prospect now, which is good news- I just have to get my head around the complexities of being self-employed and hope I can bring in enough work to keep paying for the house...
