Salt is brilliant stuff. The balance of salt in any savoury meal is what brings out and enhances every other flavour, giving shape and form to the whole thing. The diet we are trying gives you a menu of what to eat for what meal every day for the week. There is no added salt in any of it.
Within one day of following this regime we are already using terms like "A Taste Sensation" to describe anything with a taste at all - a cup of tea is filled with flavour beyond mortal dreams. It's not all bland bland bland though- each morning we have to drink a cup of hot water with the juice of half a lemon in it. This is only different from sucking on half a lemon in that you have the potential to scald your mouth.
We bought some bathroom scales- currently I weigh thirteen and a half stone. We'll see how I'm doing this time next week. If I weight the same or more I can guarantee you wailing, gnashing of teeth and intricate plotting towards the demise of Dr Food, or whatever the bloke who designed this diet is called.
