Thinking of upgrading your main work server from Windows 2000 to Windows 2003, including Exchange, ISA Server and all those other bits and bobs along with it? Well don't. Get a professional in to do the job for you. It will save on work, on pain and a lot of time. You could probably even get to that faction event you wanted to get to.

Eleven sodding hours of watching install progress bars filling up at glacial rates of change followed by brief minutes of troubleshooting- logging in to safe mode, finding missing dll files, changing the registry in a couple of places, logging out again - before you have to start the sodding process all over again.

I had time to make a font, while I waited for all that. It was surprisingly easy.

Meanwhile, in other news, if anyone here is familiar with The Day Today- did you notice that the eyewitness reporting of the guy getting shot on Thursday was almost word for word taken from that show? I was really expecting him to be played by Steve Coogan.

No lie-in for me today because of work, no lie-in for me tomorrow because we're playing a midday gig at Bracknell's South Hill arts centre. I may well have to get an early night tomorrow to catch up on my weekends sleep. Early like 4 in the afternoon.

i have to say, there was a bit of that kind of reality intrusion into the Jackals event, too, what with the whole 'the conclave are among us, and they want to destroy our way of life' thing. factor in the fact that conclave agents come from the Elder Races, and also the fact that at Moot two the Empire killed someone who turned out to be wholly innocent, well, it felt a bit close to the bone. I'm not saying it's inappropriate, or intentional at all, it's just a bit wierd.
