Bookshop, midnight, long queue past the fantasy and detective sections. We now have the new Harry Potter, recent Phil Rickman book and Iron Council, which I suppose is why they do things that way...

Those were actually my exact words in the bookshop queue. Lou has read the potter book already and I'm well into it. It seems to be up to the usual standards.

might need to catch up on Harry Potter. I've only read the first three, I think. Which Phil Rickman one did you buy, is it the one with the Septic tanks in it?

yes: we had a midnight openning too - i was sibyl; trelawny and acted mad at some people in a queue for a few hours. Thanks to lucy and tom for loan of robes too.

i've not read 5 yet, maybe i ought to soon, considering where i work. As to China Meiville - I want that book too, not long till i get my discount card, and even less time until they actually pay me for the 7 weeks i've been there :)

No, it's the one after, which is loosely based on a hotel I once stayed at in the welsh borders. I'm rationing myself with his books cos there are quite a few and I don't want to read them all at once...
