Well as we're snowed in and spent the afternoon marching to the ponies and back in the gathering dark, you might as well suffer with it too.

Black Horse in the snow
Yesterday, when Zorro went out into the field, full of purpose. Later he invented Cobogganing, we deduced from the marks on the ground, at any rate, we just saw him charging back up the hill, bucking cheerfully just as the camera battery went flat.

Stomping off
Today I took far too long getting Zorro's halter off and he was not impressed.

Rolling and sliding horse
Cobbogganing- Zorro started rolling a little further up the hill. Small had just had to skip out of the way.

Covered in snow
After rolling and troffling his nose through the snow, Zorro was a tiny bit snowy.

We've only been able to get to the yard once per day for the last couple of days which makes us bad humans as the ponies have only been out for a couple of hours, but they have been well fed and they don't mind too much, except they have a lot of energy to shift when they do go out.

Evidence suggested that Zorro had slid a fair distance down the hill yesterday but we didn't see it. Today he slid less far - fortunately as he would have hit the fence - but he nearly ran into Small nonetheless.

The novelty wears off pretty quickly when you're snowed in and you have to walk from one side to the other of this valley on the way two and from the horses:

It was more or less completely dark by the time we got home today, but at least we were warm after climbing that hill.

Like the poem says: "If it makes Jen smile/It's all worthwhile."

Actually it's more doggerel than poem as such, but principles apply.

Black horse in the snow = awesome. <3 Also, LOVE the cobbogganing picture, particularly with Small's 'expression' in the background. :)

I don't know (she says in an aggrieved tone) why you guys have snow and we don't. It is just wrong.
