One more set of pictures from the weekend and we'll be pretty much out of Autumn I think. We've had a remarkable season with no heavy gales to blow the leaves from the trees so the colours have been absolutely intense this year.

Church from the road
We took both boys out on a trail we've never explored before, going over much more agricultural land to the east of the village. This is looking back towards the church over fields. Works well without sound as it was taken from a small lane about ten metres from the dual carriageway.

Going through the underpass Small was very doubtful and Zorro had to lead the way. This is a complete reversal of past experiences and another gold star for the chunky black cob.

Autumn chestnut leaves
Chestnut leaves showing the colours we have been seeing.

Autumn beech trees at Waggoners Wells
Waggoners Wells, near Grayshott, is one of the best places for autumn colours and we seized the opportunity to go there on Saturday.

Fine weather at Waggoners Wells
This time, we weren't entirely lucky with the weather.

Autumn beech woods in the rain
Beechwoods in the autumn rain.

We hadn't expected the weather to be quite so hectic so we hadn't given the ponies rainsheets. They were very pleased about this.
Muddy horrible pony
Especially Small.

I realise that my posts have mostly been just random photos lately. There has been other stuff going on, but not all of it has been of great moment and like much of this year we're a little bit in a holding pattern currently on some things. At least now the clocks have gone back we have a dark muddy winter to look forward to.

The first photo looks more like the scenery round where I live ... I think I'll just ignore the beautiful woodland pictures, and feel better about my boring landscape. Yes.

And Small is adorable. :)

Small is supposed to be white.

I took quite a few other pictures that might have turned out nice if the autofocus on my camera hadn't failed completely...

SO not fair how pretty it is there. Here, we had about three days of leaves changing color and then, bam, they all blew down. Even where the one of where you rode out is pretty nice looking.

This year has had the awesomest seasons. We had a snowy winter then a warm spring then a proper sunny summer and now a real colourful leaves type of autumn. If there was ever a year I'd put a fiver on there being a white Christmas I think it would be this one...

Wow, good to Small getting about.
You're quite good at photography aren't you!

I'm a law of averages photographer - I just take absolutely millions and then hope there are a few good ones in there...
