One week on from breaking myself and it looks as though my shoulder has been doused with turmeric- it is a bright, lurid, yellow. Also the bones are bumpy and clearly wrong. Not nice to look at. I should get a picture. The pain is less severe now - a dull ache in the area of the broken bone itself and occasional agonising spasms when muscles around my shoulder cramp up for no clear reason or because I moved and they resent that.
The weekend was largely saved by an awesome alliance of my wife and mum, who conspired to get me a Wii and Twighlight Princess for it. I love the Zelda games ever since the first one and this is as good as ever. Because I can move my left hand but not arm and move my right arm normally the controls mostly work fine.
A short walk today showed me how far from normal I am as well under a mile in the sunshine was about my limit. I probably need to keep doing that just to help my body recall what it is for. I'm avoiding travelling by car when I can avoid it as every bump jars painfully through me. This means I've not seen my pony since last week. I'm sure that bothers me more than him...
