Just in case anyone else out there is a grand-scale pessimist you might just enjoy this fantastic selection of end of the world scenarios. It's reasonably well balanced and covers a lot of options. The kind of site I might have made if I had a lot more time on my hands.
It could use a "what will be the cause of World War Three" section but it does very well on other fronts. They seem quite convinced by the Hubbert Peak idea too, but then the only arguments I've seen against it are basically "the oil economy isn't going to come to an end because I've got my fingers in my ears and I'm shouting 'la la la I can't hear you'" which I have yet to be compelled by. Probably the same people who were denying any connection between climate change and human industrial activity a few years ago. The best thing about the end of the world as we know it will be watching those people having to sit down with a plate of their words and a a side order of humble pie.
