Carborundum
31 January 2006 22:24Today was largely concerned with getting a SOAP service up and running on Rails, the very awesome web framework for Ruby, which is the language that currently indicates how programming languages of the future will work.
It took ages, because there aren't many examples or documents around, but with assistance from some helpful folk on the rails irq channel I now have a working service and, after all the annoyance I had to deal with in sorting it out (much to do with the versions of stuff on my development machine) I even had a burst of community-spiritedness and put together a HowTo for the Rails Wiki.
If none of that meant anything to you, you're probably further from the core of geekdom than I am right now.
