Last practice...
23 October 2005 22:57Today was the last rehearsal before the big show next weekend and it went fairly well. We have a setlist worked out and we've managed to iron out a last few problems in a couple of the songs we will be playing so we're pretty much ready to go. Most shows have a couple of mistakes that people makes- those little moments where you play the wrong thing in spite of the fact you know the songs inside out, but hopefully we'll be so hyped that we'll just be able to go with it. I'm getting the first stage-fright in months just thinking about it.
This week is going to be pretty crazy for the band- on Tuesday Andy, Chris and Longhair are playing live for Henry Kelly on BBC Radio Berkshire, on Wednesday we're playing a short acoustic set in Kingston and on Friday Chris and Andy are guests of the day on BBC Southern Counties radio. Saturday is the biggest show, which you've surely heard more than enough about by now and then on Monday the album is in the shops and, hopefully, in the homes of the many who have pre-ordered it. I'm nervous but excited about the whole thing. Not even sure what I'm nervous about, but I am. Probably the possibility of having spent a huge amount of money for no return, I guess. That would be a logical fear.
( The doubtless tiresome and repetative Othello story )
The other major project we're working on is trying to tidy the house in a way that will somehow miraculously create enough space for all the people we're expecting to stay over next Saturday night...
