A couple of links to share, first up there's "click to choose a charity for a vote" kind of a thing- if you have a moment I think the Ebony Horse Club is worth a vote - check it out and make up your own mind.

Also a really interesting article on how language shapes the way we think which is worth a few minutes of anybody's time.

Thanks for the link. I woke up thinking about exactly that - how language affects what images we see. (More precisely, are hearts heart-shaped in all languages? But also, when I woke up a bit more, extended to things like how the image of "Going to heaven" is affected by the fact that "heaven" and "sky" are the same word, which they are in, for example, Swedish.)

I'll read after breakfast, and see what she says. Thanks again!

Hearts aren't even heart shaped at all, not in terms of the organ at any rate...

This reminds me of the ever famous article by George Orwell about Politics and the English Language. Such a great article, I didn't need scientific proof...

(although I do find the whole thing fascinating, especially since I felt like my brain was changing while I was living in Russia...)
