glenatronWe just watched The Golden Compass. If I had been expecting something even remotely close to the greatness of the book, I would have been deeply disappointed by it but having heard everyone and their dog totally wail on it for the last few weeks I was expecting it to be terrible and it wasn't. I felt the cast were great, doing the best they could with a script that had been watered down horribly for fear of offending some Americans.
Much like the books, Lee Scoresby was awesome. Rather than trying the impossible task of watering down the sequels they should totally just do a "Lee Scoresby's Aeronautical Adventures" type prequel.
