It has been a long and enjoyable weekend- last night we played our longest ever gig- two forty-five minute sets which began with the entire audience ignoring us and ended with people really enjoying it. Admittedly there was much alcohol consumed between the former and the latter but I would like to think that our set was part of it as well. This is the kind of thing we need to be able to do if we are to take the music seriously and it was real fun.

This afternoon we went out for a short adventure with Joe and one of the other ladies from the yard riding William who lives in the field next door to Joe and is a lot taller. I went along on foot and it was a beautiful sunny afternoon for a wander through the woods, although it got a bit warm when everyone else was trotting and I had to jog along to keep up. Joe seemed to find my presence quite comforting and I in turn feel honoured that he thinks I am to be trusted. Often in working with horses the most unexpected things can be the most rewarding.

In the flower bed in front of our kitchen the Daffodils are on the point of coming into flower. It is mid January. It seems to me like there might just be something to all this talk of climate change.

Damn it! Normally I preview, but our internet connection is quite shagged at the moment ( either Wanadoo broadband is shite or SMC routers are shite- we should know on tuesday ) so I just posted, typoes and all.

Daffodils seem to be fighting their way through the overgrowth and rubbish in our front garden/space/area. I've thought about clearing it to make it easier but also admire their determination.

If you leave them you're helping them grow stronger.

we've all read Day of the Triffids. they always reminded me of daffodils. so much so that when i was about six, me and my pet Gobot went around snapping their heads off in our back garden. and as a result, i can still see perfectly...
