I have just played my first radio session. We did a brief interview for Guildford's Eagle radio station and played a live version of September Sun, the five of us jammed into a small studio with the producer. It came out pretty well and, just like having a proper CD, hearing our voices and playing coming out of the radio is a real novelty and tremendously exciting. We went on to play an acoustic gig at Bar Mambo in the middle of town which was fun but relatively quiet, probably because of the rain. Friday's maltings gig is likely to be better, never mind our West End Centre show in Aldershot next Wednesday. Last time we played there it was one of our finest moments and if this is anything close it will be really good night out.

I have another cold (related to camping out in Wales in November? Seems unlikely) which lead to absolutely crazy dreams last night, including one where Lou discovered she had to go off with a talking thoroughbred to try and save a doomed alien civilisation, leaving me and Joe Pony very sad and alone (this was something to do with Final Fantasy, though I'm not sure what) and another where I was trying to run a classic wheeze involving moving false walls around York cathedral as part of a 1960s movie. Everything was in that slightly washed out Technicolor palette. When I was arrested for witchcraft ( it wasn't my fault- a witch-doctor handed a five foot long lead scorpion and a pig in the nave and I was immediately seized by two police officers who were with him ) and accused outside the church by a 1960s prosecutor in front of a huge crowd of being a witch they all started shouting that I was innocent because it was art. I was suddenly relieved that this film was made during a decade of idealism.

Most people need strong drugs to reach the places I find with a sore throat and a bit of a doze.
