Mostly this weekend has been dedicated to hiding from thunderstorms ( being in a field on top of a hill in the thunder and lightning can be a little disconcerting, we discovered ) and going to a barbecue at (our guitarist) Chris' house where he managed to get most of the cooking done before the torrential rain and Lou consumed a bottle of mead and half as much wine again and managed to stay standing at the end of it. Mostly standing, anyways. I decided early on that I was driving home and stopped after half a glass of mead which didn't really detract from my enjoyment of the night at all- booze has never been very important to me as I have very few inhibitions about making an idiot of myself in public to start with.

On Sunday, as rain had stopped play at ponyville, we came home in time to make a tasty cottage pie, pop some popcorn and settle down on the sofa to watch V for Vendetta. It was a good sort of a film and although I can sort of see that Alan Moore has a point in his criticism of it, I enjoyed it in it's own right - thank you [livejournal.com profile] kittyfantastico. I've never really got into graphic novels and I certainly don't have the hang of making them last but I kind of think I should because they seem to have some good stories in them.

My boss has been on holiday for the last couple of weeks and although I've been working confoundedly hard I feel like I won't have done enough. I'm sure it will be fine, but new job paranoia is most irritating.

In spite of being the busiest person in the world, I'm looking forward to doing some jamming with Shanks on our new mystery music project. That should be really good fun and very different to the musical day job.
