Dogs!

Badger is an aging border collie obsessed with fetching the smallest and most impossible to throw items for humans to throw, Dolly is a black labrador who has fishing-wire instead of a tendon in one leg and specialises in lying on his back and singing in a sort of howly and fairly tuneless way. Their owner, whose horse shares a field with Joe and Othello, is currently on crutches so they have come to stay at our house. It's pretty cool being a temporary dog owner, except for the poo-scoop thing, and it does mean Lou and I are getting some exercise, which is probably good for us.

dogs are knackering, no matter how fit you are. so I'm told, of course, I'm in terrible shape.

Our family has joint custody of a psycho little terrier called Harry at the moment, and my christmas holiday was spent mainly trying to stop him from jumping on me.

He is very male. I would not be in the least surprised if I went downstairs now and found him reclining on the sofa with the remote and a can of lager.
