It turns out that being friends with herecirm and hanging out with her and the shires at shows sometimes means that I occasionally get the chance to do things like this:
He's a big old working clydesdale so he is pretty mellow about most things that happen really. He's worn the caparisons a few times and always been fine with them as far as I know- probably once a horse has worn full working harness stuff like this isn't so different.
Basically by dint of good posture and the fact she's not on a horse wearing armour, instead of being my squire, herecirm ends up looking like she's the general giving me my orders.
