People like [livejournal.com profile] albevan, [livejournal.com profile] silks_ic and [livejournal.com profile] tadeous have been putting their music players on random and putting the first lines of 10 songs it chooses for people to guess. Nothing if not a sheep, I thought I'd join in...

1) "One night, a long time ago, Two lovers danced to an old radio..." Radio Sweethearts - Kate Rusby
2) "We fall through water unsung unseen and days thought endless lose more light and heat." Overthrown - Tom McRae
3) "Regret I'll not be a prisoner in your cell..." Big Regret - Eden Burning
4) "Apparently before jed had left us, he wrote some poems..." Jed's Other Poem - Grandaddy
5) "I was sitting with the band, a drink in each hand, there wasn't much to say..." Find The Answer Within - Boo Radleys
6) "I still don't know what I was waiting for and my time was running wild" - Changes by Bowie, spotted by [livejournal.com profile] albevan.
7) "I should have quit you long time ago yeah long time ago..." The Lemon Song by Led Zep identified by [livejournal.com profile] flangebeast.
8) "In the lush Virginia hills they kept her as long as they could..." Virginia by Tori Amos, also [livejournal.com profile] flangebeast.
9) "The gentleman caller in the blue suede shoes he don't know what to do..." - Good Time by Counting Crows, [livejournal.com profile] albevan again.
10) "Hear me now and don't forget I'm not the man my actions would suggest..." Debonair by Afghan Whigs, half guessed by [livejournal.com profile] shiva_matimbres

I confess to having jumped a couple that were so wilfully obscure none of you would have got them. Looking at that list I would maybe be able to guess 5 of them. Turns out I own a lot more music than I listen to regularly...

Othello has been in disgrace lately- a couple of weeks ago he flattened Lou in an act of uncharacteristic stupidity - and my wife is now entirely convinced he hates her. She is more than capable of dealing with him but he tends to be well behaved until he seems trustworthy and then do something that causes her injury, typically out of pure gormlessness.

One of the suggestions I was given at the time was that we should do some work with him in the field to remind him that he has to pay attention there as well as when he comes in. We've been following this up for the last couple of weeks, making sure Lou does a bunch of groundwork with him as well - apparently it's quite common for Dales ponies raised in the dales to be trained by men and they are often less respectful of female handlers. Our chiropractor breeds them and as my beloved typically ends up having to visit after Othello has flattened her somehow they end up chatting about them quite a lot.
An achievement )
