Hicho No Kamae

Last night we played a gig at Reading University, which is a venue where we have had some really good shows in the past. Yesterday the sound wasn't quite right- the monitors were very bassy and the on-stage sound far too loud- which put us slightly off our stride and I was further off because in the early part of the afternoon 485 kilograms of small adorable furry animal stomped the point of it's back hoof down on the top of my right instep. The small adorable furry animal in question was entirely in disgrace but otherwise quite happy, while I was pretty much unable to walk. After an afternoon spent with cold things balanced on my foot I went off and played the gig, which was where I learned that I mostly balance on my right foot when I'm playing. My left leg was knackered and the different playing position meant that this morning my shoulders were very sore as well.

Today we started teaching Othello about climbing into a horse box. He didn't seem impressed with the idea, but he's going to get no more dinner until he can eat it inside the box. Right now, I find it hard to feel to sorry about that.
