That was definitely a kick-ass weekend. We were domesticated on friday, had a relaxing saturday hanging out with Joe Pony and then a gig on Sunday which suddenly had an unexpectedly large number of Clare, Martyn and Dave in attendance. I was astounded, flabbergasted and generally completely surprised by their sudden appearance but mostly I was just happy to see them. It was a good gig, too - a decent venue, a reasonable number of people there and a good length set.

After everyone came back to our house whereupon every spider that had ever entered the building made a beeline for Clare. I have absolutely no idea why- presumably either they sensed her fear or she is some kind of spider god or something- but fortunately Martyn is strong against all forms of arachnid and so he evicted them as they appeared and mostly no-one died.

On monday morning we cooked up breakfast for everyone and drove to visit the beast of burden who proceeded to be bless and sleepy at them. In the afternoon Lou and I went and wandered through some local bluebell woods which are in full flower creating an effect somewhat reminiscent of a soft blue mist among the chestnut coppices. On days like that England is as beautiful as anywhere in the world.

Today I wasn't sure what day it was and I only have tomorrow to try and work out what is going on before we are off again to the Badminton horse trials (a great weekend away- has a marketplace like Glastonbury festival only with sit-on mowers and leather sofas instead of ethnic shirts and silly hats) and into the studio to start work on the album directly after. Pure class.
