Today we moved Joseph Pony to a new yard. It was only about a 300 yard walk round the corner from where he has been living up to now so it wasn't a big walk but it is stressful for a horse to be out of sight of their familiar places and fieldmates so it's still quite a big deal for him. The yard is much smarter and better organised - they are just in the process of setting up floodlights for their school, which makes a huge difference when you are only at the yard in darkness as we are during the week. Joe settled quickly into his field- a quick trot around the edge, a bit of standing forehead to forehead with neighbouring horses and then squeaking suddenly and trotting off and he settled down.

After carrying as much of his hay as we could from the old yard and seeing he was properly settled, Lou and I headed off to Godalming. While we were out the owner of his old fieldmate took her for a walk past his new field. Seeing his friend, Joe did the obvious thing and went to say hello. In this case that entailed running straight through a barbed wire fence, which he managed to do without causing himself any discernable injury. Given that most horses seem to take every opportunity they can to injure themselves in varied and expensive ways this was something close to a miracle. The fence is now patched up with a digger and Joe seems to be contained. Whether this continues after he next spots one of his friends walking by I could not honestly say.

Last night we played another acoustic night in Farnham as part of the excellent Acoustic Fridays series and although it was very good fun to play ( and great to hear Logo again ) we have now played about 5 consecutive acoustic nights and we are all desperate to plug in and play electric. Fortunately the opportunity arises this week, with a gig at Bracknell's Cellar Bar on Tuesday and then at the West End Centre in Aldershot on Wednesday. Last time we played at the West End Centre it was probably our best gig to date and if anyone is in the area I would strongly recommend getting to the show. If you're not, you can always buy the CD - extraordinarily good value for money, even if I do say so myself...
