A long week ends...

glenatronSo it's Saturday night and one of the most intense weeks I've had in years has ended. The Electric Friday show last night was very impressive- Big Wednesday were absolutely incendiary and made things difficult for the very average band who followed them, playing to a rapidly draining audience.
The festival this afternoon was really good fun- it was a bastard to get our kit to the site and we weren't as tight as usual either- I managed some fantastically blatant mistakes and Andy completely missed a verse from one of our songs - but we were having fun and the audience were having fun (and accumulating as the set went on, which is encouraging) and it didn't really matter. Although it was only a few stages in tents and some stalls in a field it still had that cheery and relaxed festival vibe. Conveniently, it also had a stall selling light cotton shirts of the kind that work as part of most kit- especially when they knocked a bit of money off because one of the shirts had a mark on it. As soon as we got home the energy that has been sustaining me since last weekend just seemed to drain away and I was suddenly absolutely exhausted. Time for a bath and then bed. Hopefully tomorrow will be a slow day.
