I'm still annoyed about the whole thing where the government are pricing us off the roads without having provided any alternative. And no, Mr Brown, it's no good talking about how you're going to start any minute now, you stupid, selfish, corporate sell-out, blubberfaced arsewit. Infrastructure takes time to build, decades often. If you didn't see this coming then you are less of an economist than I am and I know nothing about economics. Who started a massive war with the intention of destabilising the oil-producing world in the first place? I'm pretty sure it was your buddies George and Tony.

I'm really keen on alternative transport, I would prefer not to have to drive everywhere, but no bastard from the state has been doing anything to make it easier to cycle in this part of the world ( they had to leave it to a charity ) and the price of public transport is a tiny fraction of what the providers should be paying me for wasting so much of my time every time I use one of their shoddy, disconnected so-called "services". Another glorious victory for privatisation. Well done British Governments Since 1980.

Hey given how well that's worked, and how it's the envy of half the world, why not privatise the NHS through the back door while you're at it, you repulsive indolent toe-rag?

WHY IS THERE NOT A SINGLE POLITICAL PARTY IN THIS COUNTRY DESERVING OF ANY EMOTION BEYOND HATRED AND CONTEMPT?

Yeah, I agree. Not only are we 'fighting', but the oil that is involved is just so darn expensive we can't afford to buy it. Forget about public transport. The last place I lived public transport was feasible, but way too expensive compared to driving. Go figure! Where I live now there is none.
Very frustrating. My car is still good to go, but I am already trying to decided what I will do when it dies. I hope it never dies because I love it. If I were smart, I would start now on building a car that runs on horse manure or dog poop.
Diesel has gotten so high here that it is ridiculous!

We're paying $9.75 per gallon for diesel at the moment, which I suspect is probably worse than where you are just because the UK government levies an enormous amount of tax on fuel in order to price us off the road. Then offers us no alternatives so we have to pay whatever we ask so they just make a huge amount of cash, the environment isn't protected and they only beneficiaries are the Treasury.

You know the fule costs are getting bad when I complain about the cost of filling up my little 125cc motorbike!

Our lovely council go on and on about how many miles of cycle lanes they have in the town. What they neglect to mention is that each part of it is only about 200 yards long and it doesn't by any means join up. Also most of it zig-zags between path and road and randomly just vanishes into a main road without warning.

The trains dont help, Asher can't go by train to work leaving crawley before 09:30am and he can't leave london to get home again until after 7pm. Then there is the whole thing of each 4 car unit of trains can only hold 2 bikes, so naturally it doesn't exactly encourage people to take their bikes on the train when working in London.

The government really is bringing this country to its knees!

that last bit sums up my feelings about politics as a whole.

I don't know. I heard the trains would be fine if they could only get the signalling staff ;p

The bike on train thing is an enormous WTF right there. One of the biggest stupids in a system made entirely of stupid. Oh it makes me furious.

Somewhat embarrasingly, clicking on the "rants" tag above indicates I said almost exactly the same thing a little while back.

Close to word for word in places.

At least I'm consistent in my rage and hate.

Yes, of course you all are paying more. Our diesel is about half that now. The crazy thing is that some years ago everyone was changing over to diesel not only for the efficiency, but also the lower cost per gallon. Now they are really screwed.
When I lived in the UK the gas was +/- $5.00 per gallon, so I do understand the pain you all over there are feeling and I have always been grateful that we are not paying it here.
What really pisses me off is the cost of living thing. Everything is going up 'due to the price of fuel', except our pay. That is unless, of course, you are a service/delivery industry. Not that I blame them. If I were them I would be doing the same thing. The problem is that when I went into my boss and told her I was raising my prices 'due to the price of fuel' she just laughed her ass off.
Oh well, I will keep paying it until my fuel bill is higher then my paycheck.
