Mellow day at the yard

glenatronWe spent today pretty much entirely at the yard, which was really nice after a lot of hectic time over the last few weeks. We played with the ponies in the school, tidied their field a bit and generally made ourselves busy with necessary tasks for the whole day.
Thought experiment: Instead of saying "stable" say "cage" when referring to your horse's indoor accomodation (only works if you have a horse.) Zorro obviously has no complaints about being in a cage. He was actually waiting for me to get on with things so we could go and play in the school.
A couple of pictures from last weekend, when certain Small ponies decided they would rather have their hay than be caught and if they couldn't have their hay then they would damned well run around flat out in protest. sleepsy_mouse, Zorro and I watched in some bafflement.
By running in arcs across the hill he used the downhill to pick up speed and the uphill to slow down at the other end.
Pony in flight! He was trying to flag his tail but his rug was a little heavy.
After about ten traversals of the field in full gallop he decided he had used up all his excess excitement and waited to be caught and come in. Still one of the most adorable ponies and I'm still ever so glad that he is going to be able to stay.
