I've got one of those really annoying colds, the ones that give you a bit of a snuffle, a bit of a sore throat and make you feel so exhausted you can hardly move.

Going to have some Echinacea and go to bed and try and sleep it off. Hopefully it will be fine, but if I'm still feeling like this come Friday I don't think I'll be able to get to The Gathering or enjoy it while I'm there. The idea of missing it totally sucks, though. I don't want to be doing that.

What are they making you do with XML?

Ok, here's something that I put together for myself, and it helps me.

1. Chop up some raw ginger
2. Put that in a pot with a good lot of honey
3. cover with water (enough to fill a glass and then some
4. Heat, but do not boil

5. Drink it up

You'll have to try it out to figure out how much honey/ginger you want. More honey for a sore throat, more ginger for feelings of ick. Good luck, and hope you feel better soon.

We do something similar with a bit of orange or lemon for extra vitamin C and to protect against scurvy. It surely helps.

Um, well, the first 2 chapters were very basic. Chapter 1: this is XML see how much it resembles HTML but look, oh cool, it has these advantages of you making your own tags. Chapter 2: Looky here, you can BIND THIS STUFF to webpages, and if you view it in the one web browser that supports it, it will show up!

My makeup homework was all about document type declarations. I think. Not the same as document type definitions which I gather is what we use at the top of an HTML page?

Internal declarations, external, entities, etc. I really just kind of flew through it, but I got it done and it pushed my grade up into that really high bracket that I like, so good enough...for now anyways.

It's rubbish for the web until you start working with XSLT then it gets quite handy in some circumstances.

More useful as a data exchange format really, though.
