Unexpected ninjas!
2 August 2007 01:43Had an awesome ninja training session yesterday- a whole lot of people who I've not seen since the Surrey University club in Guildford closed all independantly decided to come down and train with us in Southwater. The lesson was packed and it was really good to see so many familiar and friendly faces.
I was also starting to feel more like my grade and with confidence my movement, timing and technique all improve. I'm still rubbish at recalling the names of techniques and there is endlessly more to learn than I know, but I finally feel a little less out of my depth and a little like this belt belongs to me...

Date: 5 Aug 2007 01:20 (UTC)They were kind of covert spy types in the Samurai era. The martial art we practise is what survives of their fighting style. It's unspectacular to watch, non-competetive because most techniques are deeply unsporting, very effective and fun!
